I Want It to Do More Than Deliver

This work asks what people would want if notification systems did more than deliver isolated alerts. Through a reanalysis of interview and design-workshop data, we found visions of proactive agents that surface actionable takeaways, progressively disclose details, support follow-up actions, connect notifications with outside context, and distribute awareness across people and objects.

My role: I did not participate in the original study. I led the reanalysis of the existing dataset and the development and writing of the resulting paper, working from material that had been waiting for a second life for roughly two years.

The paper was accepted to PACM HCI and will be presented at MobileHCI 2026 in Swansea.
